Tucking in the turf

We finally received some decent weather last week and were able to get some tasks accomplished on the golf course.  We cleaned up most of the oak leaves that had fallen later than the rest of the trees. We also got a chance to get our dormant fertilizer applied to fairways, tees, and rough. Dormant fertilizer is very important to jump start spring growth and it will give denser, healthier turf. This early development and strengthening of the plant will help sustain its health through the entire year.

We also had the chance to take down several more dead ash trees. We worked on the road between number 9 and the driving range.  Sometime after the first of the year we will need to close the road for a few hours to take down a few more trees. For those of you who live in the neighborhood, I will coordinate with the homeowner’s association to give you several days notice before this happens.
