Winter is closing in and we are starting to prepare for it. The coolers and ball washers have been brought in because of the freezing temperatures we are experiencing at night. Leaves are almost all off the trees so we are finishing up with cleanup on them. When we get a calm day we will be blowing and cleaning up leaves along the fence line around the front nine. We will be mowing tees and fairways one more time in preparation of our dormant fertilizer application. We will also be starting tree removal this week. There are several more Ash trees around the course that have declined and need to be removed. We will also be blowing out the irrigation system in a few weeks as well. This is an all day process but it is necessary to keep the irrigation lines and heads from freezing and cracking during the winter months.
