Cabin Fever

The sub zero temperatures and snow cover have kept us bottled up in the shop most of week. Although we are getting a lot done inside, we are itching to get back out on the course. With the ground being frozen several inches deep, we will be going after a few of the larger Ash trees this week. This gives us the ability to get our equipment out to the work area without rutting or destroying turf. This will also help when we cut down the infected trees. With it being frozen, the tree will bounce off the ground instead of having limbs sink in causing damage. We will also be able to bring our skid loader off the path to pick up some of the larger logs. This will dramtically reduce the time it takes to remove the downed tree from the course by being able to cut it into longer lengths.
