Fall is finally here! After a brutal summer of record days in the 90’s, we are now receiving some much needed cooler temperatures. All bad spots in fairways are now slice seeded. The spots we did first have germinated and are really starting to fill in. If you are riding in a golf cart, please try to avoid these areas as much as possible to prevent injuring the new seedlings until they establish. We have started in on seeding thin areas in the rough as well. We will resume seeding when we get into a drier weather pattern.
Almost all approaches have been aerified this past week as well. Because of the rain on Wednesday we were not able to finish holes 15 and 14. These will be completed on Monday and we will be moving into tee aerification after that. The majority of the tees will be done on Monday and we will be finishing the rest through the week.
We are currently planning and preparing for projects around the golf course. Some of these projects include tree trimming and removal of dead trees, identifying and mapping areas in need of additional drainage, bunker maintenance including edging and re-distribution of sand, installation of fall color around the clubhouse, and finally identifying areas of cart path that are in need of repair. I will be updating my blog with pictures and information as we get underway with these projects.
