Due to warm temperatures, the maintenance crew has gotten an early jump on course preparations. We opened greens last weekend allowing our members to enjoy the unseasonably warm weather. The crew was able to roll and mow greens, removing older leaf tissue. The results were great, the greens are looking healthy for February in Ohio. This past week the greens were back to being closed for further preparations. The rest of the course has dried out from a wet winter and we have been able to mow the rest of the bentgrass on the course (fairways, tees, collars, and approaches).
The tee pad project is getting closer to completion. We have poured the new concrete tee pads and soon we will be able to tie them in with soil and sod. Each pad will be complete with brand new ball washers, trashcans, and hole signs! The par 3’s will also have a brand new enclosed cooler stand and bench. I will provide pictures after completion, for now, check out the picture of the brand new tee sign!
Our mechanics have been hard at work all winter getting our equipment ready for the 2017 season. They are down to their last few pieces of machinery. A big thanks goes out to them for always having our machinery in the best operating condition possible. They are truly gifted at what they do and always find a way to make it work!
